Caterpillar's VisionLink marketing team is hiring an Event Marketing Consultant to manage the planning, organization, execution, and measurement of a wide range of events that support the growth of VisionLink. This role collaborates closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver high-quality, brand-aligned experiences that advance the VisionLink marketing strategy.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and highly collaborative, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to identify risks, resolve issues, and drive alignment. They possess exceptional organizational and prioritization skills, demonstrate disciplined logistical coordination, and bring a polished, service-oriented hospitality mindset to event execution. The candidate is self-motivated, proactive, and confident in making decisions and taking initiative in fast-paced environments.

This role has a worldwide impact and is responsible for the following:

  • Overseeing project processes and procedures; monitoring the productivity and performance of project team.
  • Managing all aspects of projects. Setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring and summarizing progress of project.
  • Ensuring adherence to project schedules and completion of project goals.
  • Preparing reports for the team on project status or potential issues.
  • Managing vendors/suppliers engagement.

Working knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.

Working knowledge of collaborative techniques; ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.

Working knowledge of the approaches, tools, and techniques for promoting creative, original thinking and ability to apply it to a variety of business situations.

Working understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Working knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.

Working knowledge of external provider management processes and ability to effectively manage the business relationship with external providers (e.g. vendors, service providers, contractors, consultants and suppliers).

Working knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.

  • Experience supporting large-scale tradeshows and industry events
  • Experience planning and executing hospitality events to promote products and solutions in B2B environments
  • Strong understanding of event-based product promotion and customer engagement
  • Familiarity with Caterpillar customer industries (e.g., construction, mining, energy, transportation) is a plus
  • Experience coordinating with cross-functional teams, vendors, and agencies to deliver seamless event experiences

Summary Pay Range: $97,530.00 - $146,290.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
