Painter

In the Painter position, you are responsible for the safe, environmentally sound, and efficient daily operation of your duties and responsibilities. Under supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Painter will perform industrial painting and plant preservation activities, including washing, paint prepping, painting, sandblasting, and general maintenance, on parts, steel, aluminum, and equipment.

Position Responsibilities:

• Perform "Power-Wash" and other pre-painting activities on parts in preparation for painting/fabrication.
• Apply a variety of industrial coatings to fabricated metal products.
• Utilize instrumentation to measure painting parameters to ensure compliance with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specifications.
• Responsible for the application of industrial coatings in confined spaces.
• Assist to appropriately rig large objects for the purpose of moving them in the process of applying the industrial coatings.
• Adhere to all OSHA and hazardous materials procedures with respect to the storage and handling of materials in the area.
• Requisition material and supplies from stockroom; call vendors to discuss needs for parts and supplies and recommend purchases and suppliers.
• Work in a self-guided manner in the absence of supervision and demonstrate creativity, exercise sound judgment, and demonstrate initiative.
• Ensure a high standard of housekeeping is maintained in all assigned areas.
• Assist in the maintenance of a clean and safe work environment and guarantee and observe good safety habits.
• Performs additional tasks as directed by the Shift Supervisor, or his or her designee.

Position Requirements & Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience as an industrial painter, experience with erecting scaffolding and ladders.
• Fully trained to use spray rig/gun system, sandblasting equipment, chipping hammer, grinder, and forklift.

• Thorough knowledge of surface preparation to ensure proper coating adhesion and a basic understanding of paint equipment and paint-booth operation.
• Ability to utilize a variety of techniques and tools in painting surfaces and make an accurate selection from tools like spray equipment, airbrushes, stencils, rollers, and brushes.
• Responsible for prepping the substrate for paint.
• Drywall Experience
• Masonry experience, preferred

Physical Demands of the Role:

• Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb.
• Ability to lift/carry 50lbs.
• Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces.
• Qualify to wear a full-face respirator.
• Consistently work in various weather conditions

Shift:

• Day shift.
• Available to work nights and weekends to support projects and planned and unplanned outages.

In addition to salary, this role is eligible for benefits. The benefits would include medical, prescription drug, vision, and dental plans; 401(k) plan; paid parental leave; paid time off; and paid holidays.

The range below reflects Reworld's reasonable estimate of base pay for this role based on primary posting location. It is expected that most qualified candidates in this location will fall within the posting range. The final salary offered for this role will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to: experience, education, geographic location, skills and competencies, travel requirements and/or union contracts (if applicable). Pay ranges are reviewed from time to time and may be modified in the future.

The pay range for the primary location of this position is: $47,400.00 - $63,100.00 USD. For hourly roles, this is the annualized salary. To calculate the hourly rate, divide by 2080.
