Veterinary Assistant:

Carolina Ranch Animal Hospital and Resort, a state-of-the-art veterinary hospital and resort in Garner, NC, is looking for an experienced full-time veterinary Assistant to join our team. Our unique hospital and luxury pet resort offers a fun, fast-paced, team-oriented working environment. We also offer monthly lunch-n-learns about new products and services and team meetings. Hours can be flexible during the week (morning or evening) but do include every other weekend and holiday shifts. We offer a wide array of veterinary services including routine exams and surgeries, but also day-time emergencies, Rehabilitation, Reproduction, Laparascopic surgery, Laser therapy, and Acupuncture.

Veterinary experience of at least two years is required.


Skills:

• Know vaccine protocols
• Familiar with heartworm and flea preventions
• Ability to perform animal handling/husbandry
• Ability to perform venipuncture and operating lab machines
• Proficient at anesthetic monitoring, intubation, and catheter placement
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Possess good communication, computer, and organizations skills

Physical Obligations:

• Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Endure standing and walking on hard floor surfaces for extended periods of time
• Able to work in noisy work conditions with sounds from animals and equipment
• Take safety precautions for exposure to toxins, drugs, anesthesia and radiation

Educational Requirements:

• Professional grooming certification
• Minimum age requirement of 18 years old
