Senior Cytotechnologist Job Summary: Medical Diagnostic Laboratories
(MDL), a member of Genesis Biotechnology Group, is a CLIA certified clinical laboratory with multiple state licensing, specializing in state of the art, automated DNA based molecular analysis of a variety of chronic and infectious illnesses.
MDL specializes and performs Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) with a larger menu of testing available in the field of infectious disease. Our main theme of research is in the field of Gynecology, Infectious Diseases, Infectious Arthritis, Tick-borne Diseases, Mycology, and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS).
The Senior Cytotechnologist performs specialized and complex testing that involves microscopic screening and evaluation of gynecological and non-gynecological specimens; provides interpretations to the Supervisory cytotechnologist and pathologists.
Essential Functions: - Performs thorough and accurate microscopic evaluation of cellular samples using recognized criteria to make cytological interpretations.
- Correlates findings with supervisory cytotechnologist and pathologists.
- Accurately records all appropriate specimen and results data.
- Assures individual specimen turnaround times are consistent with overall laboratory expectations.
- Assures cytological activities and equipment are used and maintained safely and in accordance with laboratory procedures.
- Appropriate established laboratory techniques are used in the preparation of quality slides from cytological samples.
- Performs other similar or related duties as required or assigned.

Job Qualifications : General

A bilities (KSA's) required
- ASCP Board Certification
- Experience with Thin-Prep Imaging System; Review Scope a plus
Physical Demands: Physical, Mental and Workplace Environment Conditions
- Ability to sit, stand, walk and repetitive motion: (microscopic screening).
- Proficient visual and audio skills

- Use of personal protective equipment may be necessary
- May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids
Education and Certifications: - Bachelors degree in related science
- Minimum of 5 years related experience
